Å klippe seg

Getting a Haircut

Getting a Haircut
Anna opened the door to the small hair salon on the corner.
She smelled shampoo and hairspray, and she felt a little nervous.
She hadn't been to the hairdresser in a long time, and her hair felt heavy and unmanageable.
Behind the counter stood a smiling hairdresser with short, light hair.
She put down her comb and said kindly, "Hi!
Velkommen.
Welcome.
Har du time i dag?"
Do you have an appointment today?"
Anna shook her head and replied cautiously, "No, I was wondering if I could get a haircut now."
The hairdresser nodded and pointed to an empty chair.
"Ja, det går bra.
"Yes, that's fine.
Sett deg ned her."
Sit down here."
Anna hung her jacket on the hook and sat down in the chair.
She looked at herself in the mirror, and the hairdresser placed a white cape around her shoulders.
"Hvordan vil du ha håret klippet?" spurte frisøren rolig.
"How would you like your hair cut?" the hairdresser asked calmly.
Anna thought for a moment and smiled a little uncertainly.
"Bare kortere, takk.
"Just shorter, please.
Kanskje litt over skuldrene."
Maybe a little above my shoulders."
Frisøren løftet en hårlokk og nikket.
The hairdresser lifted a lock of hair and nodded.
"Ja, det blir fint.
"Yes, that will be nice.
Vil du også ha lugg?"
Would you like bangs too?"
Anna lo og ristet på hodet.
Anna laughed and shook her head.
"Nei, ingen lugg.
"No, no bangs.
Bare litt enklere hår."
Just a little simpler hair."
The scissors began to cut, and small hairs fell onto the cape.
Anna satt stille og hørte på lyden.
Anna sat quietly and listened to the sound.
Det føltes lett og godt.
It felt light and good.
Etter en stund sa frisøren: "Sånn!
After a while, the hairdresser said, "There!
Nå er vi ferdige.
Now we're done.
Hva synes du?"
What do you think?"
Anna så på seg selv i speilet.
Anna looked at herself in the mirror.
Håret var kortere og mye friskere.
Her hair was shorter and much fresher.
Hun smilte stort.
She smiled broadly.
"Å, det er perfekt!
"Oh, it's perfect!
Tusen takk."
Thank you so much."
The hairdresser took off the cape and shook it lightly.
"Bare hyggelig.
"You're welcome.
Det blir hundre og femti kroner."
That'll be one hundred and fifty kroner."
Anna paid and put her jacket back on.
As she walked out of the salon, she felt both light and happy.
